Why Psychometric Testing?
Throughout the history of business,
employers have always tried to find out as much
as possible about their present or future employees.
This isn't exactly surprising, considering how
much we can lie about during an interview. We
hardly try and divulge various aspects of our
personality that could put us at a disadvantage
at getting the job.
Various tests have come and gone,
from the 19th century "graphology tests",
to more modern "IQ and Aptitude" tests.
Obviously none of these were any where near fool
proof, and just required some practice prior to
the test.
Psychometric tests however, are
different. They confuse the subject by contrasting
many unrelated preferences, so it becomes difficult
to give the "correct" answer. The answers
are then related and analysed, often by computer.
This then gives an incredibly accurate personality
profile of that person.
